Till when will we be mere spectators

Recent influx of Kenya women in sports stadium is encouraging,I would say women have come to embrace sports,i love it!
Watching a kenyan premier league soccer match at the Nyayo stadium held under floodlights, i was amazed by the number of young women who came out in large numbers to watch the mighty K'ogallo.explosive is the word i will use to describe the nature of the game.in a nut shell everyone enjoyed including these new breed of fans who are not very well informed when it comes to the world of soccer.these women stayed around to hook up with these players after the match ended to my disbelief. it left me with this one question? who is benefiting? Is it the clubs in terms of revenue collection through gate charges or the football players by being supported by pretty faces which makes them perform even better? could it be the male fans who enjoy the company of female fans or the female fans who would otherwise cheer and hang around the male fans and players than actively get involved?
Just a thought! spectating is a great form of leisure, but,Isn't it time we women focused on active involvement in these sports rather than remain just fans who cling around these men after they are through playing these matches.your thought?
