With the approach of this very important day of celebration in our country and in the whole world, alot still needs to be desired especially from the medical fratanities., ministry of health and public health sectors. Many have asked and still continue to ask for a more human rights based approach to a whole lot of issues including the minority groups almost being excluded in the fight against this scourge, and if you may all allow me, i want to zero it down to the sexual minorities who have for ever been living in the peripheries. What we always sometimes fail to understand or forget is that we too could be affected if not infected either way and this pandemic is non- selective, whether you are heterosexual or homosexual or whatever you want to identify as, we still face the challenge.
Think about this, for instance if your loved one came out and disclosed that they were gay and suffering from HIV, would you still accord them the same treatment as the minorities out there or would you now jump in the wagon and champion for their rights to be given proper healthcare?. all i am trying to say is we should be understanding of other peoples sensibilities and be people who respect other peoples human rights. Let us all put our efforts together and embrace this call to celebrate. I will not go into depth to discuss about how lots of monies have been frozen which are meant to fight this pandemic, but dont you think we could make do with it? This goes out to all who are responsible for the mis- management of the funds....Get you act right!!! and if you perhaps may have forgotten, homosexuals too need not to be marginalised. Its forever intresting to note that researches are being carried out among the ''straight'' community and the ''crooked ones'' being left out but if we could just stop all that tagging/labelling, men who have sex with men(MSM) and women who have sex with women (WSW's) are most of the times MARRIED PERSONS in so acclaimed heterosexual relationships....it may come as a shock, but you and i may just be tied at some point in this affair so please stop the discrimination because unless i tell you i sleep with other women, you just will never know. Thus the choice of word- non selective.
As usual, the ball is in your court.

Stigma
Stigma associated with HIv/Aids seem to shift from one aspect to another, but the truth is that people are dying, and unless action is taken more will die!
