“Press Conference by PARENTS on the Anti-Homosexuality Bill, 2009”

[Friday September 2, 2011, Imperial Royale Hotel, Daisy Hall, 10.00am]

Launching the “Pass the BILL Now Campaign”

“Who will protect or speak for our Children when homosexuals are targeting them?”

Introduction

We the parents of Uganda again come together with a united voice to state our position on the issue of homosexuality and the Anti-Homosexuality Bill.

Our patience as parents is running thin as we can no longer stand by and watch while the main issues that matter to us as a nation are being derailed by self-seeking agendas and global interests, at the expense of our children and the societal norms and values which we cherish as Ugandans.

First and foremost we wish to put the records straight, that it was we the parents of Uganda who together with other stakeholders who spearheaded the demand for a strong law that can protect our children from being molested and recruited into homosexuality.

For two years now we have not had the appropriate law passed and our children are still exposed and are still being molested and recruited at an alarming rate in schools and universities. We cannot stand by while our children are being destroyed and yet we have a government, legislators and law enforcement agencies who have the primary responsibility of protecting our children and nation from sexual slavery and sexual colonization that homosexuals and their international masters are trying to impose on us.

Background

In the early months of 2009, we the parents in conjunction with religious institutions, civil society organizations and other stakeholder launched a nationwide campaign to safeguard our children and our culture from the onslaught of homosexuality that had come to light at that time. This culminated in the submission of a petition to Parliament on April 23, 2009, in which parents demanded protection for our children who were being targeted for recruitment, defilement and rape by homosexuals and lesbians who were being funded and trained by some Western governments and international organizations operating in Uganda.

This brought about the introduction of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill on October 14, 2009. The bill generated worldwide reaction and debate mainly orchestrated by the global gay machinery whose activists have penetrated most Western governments, international and donor agencies based in the West. Ugandan leaders were put under extreme pressure where even President Museveni was confronted by several Western and UN leaders. Threats to cut aid and funding to Uganda came from several Western nations and donor agencies. In the meantime, millions of dollars were siphoned into Uganda by the gay machinery to “kill the bill”.

Some Western Governments and NGOs, in collaboration with gay activists, deliberately misinformed and misled the world about the bill and turned their campaign from the original purpose of protecting innocent Ugandan children to demanding for the recognition and protection of homosexuals.

The Eight Parliament ended in May this year when the bill had not yet been brought to the floor of Parliament for debate. The gays worldwide celebrated, taking credit for using their influence to “kill the bill”.

What is Happening Now?

Over two years on: -

i. The Anti-Homosexuality Bill has not yet been debated and passed by Parliament,
ii. Numerous gay organizations have opened offices in Uganda,
iii. There is more gay content in programs that are broadcast by the media in Uganda,
iv. Gays have established many “human rights” and other organizations and have launched several cases aimed at removing sections of the law that prohibits gay lifestyle and are pushing for decriminalizing homosexuality. Recently gay lawyers from outside Uganda came and trained Ugandan lawyers in how to argue and win homosexual cases and how to bring up cases that will eventually have the laws of Uganda changed to legalize homosexuality.
v. Gays have mobilized, recruited and trained prostitutes countrywide and have organized them into advocacy groups so that they can demand for recognition and the decriminalization of prostitution.
vi. Recruitment of our sons and daughters in schools, universities and institutions of higher learning has been increased several times over in the recent past as more funding has come for this purpose. The situation is very worrying in schools where money is used to entice innocent children into this vice. [Exhibit & true story of a student encountered last term]
vii. Early this month (August 2011) the homosexuals launched a four-month “Hate No More Campaign”. This was organized by two homosexual organizations, Freedom and Roam Uganda and Refugee Law Project. This is a campaign to force Ugandans to accept homosexuality. During their press conference, some of the homosexuals wore priestly clothes pretending to be priests to give the impression that even priests are behind their campaign. At that time the homosexuals pinned pro-homosexuality posters in various places in Kampala city.
viii. On August 22, 2011 the Daily Monitor Newspaper carried a story on page 6 entitled “Cabinet Drops Bahati’s Gay Bill”. The Cabinet legal advisor thinks that there is no need for the Anti-homosexuality Bill.

In light of all these disturbing developments, our children are still exposed and are being targeted by homosexuals. The molestation, recruitment and defilement of our children is still going on unabated and with impunity.

Parents’ Response

The question is; who will defend, protect and speak for our children who are the main target of homosexuals? It would appear that even some of those who are charged with the responsibility to protect our children are either shunning that responsibility or are succumbing to pressure from the international homosexual machinery. Where does that leave the fate of our innocent children, who will protect them and to whom will they turn?

It is in response to this situation that the Uganda National Parents Network (UNPN) [a program of Family Life Network] in conjunction with Uganda Coalition for Moral Values (UCMV) and other stakeholders have decided to mobilize parents and right thinking Ugandans countrywide to rise up and demand from our government and legislators proper protection for our children and our culture from the vicious attack on them by homosexuals. Since we as parents are law abiding citizens, we want to hold the government and legislators accountable on this matter.

We the parents of Uganda have resolved as follows: -

Cabinet

i. Review your position on the anti-homosexuality Bill and protect our children. You are also parents. We urge you to do what is right even if it is not politically correct. Remember that you first obligation and loyalty should be to the citizens of Uganda and our children who are our future.
ii. We urge you to show leadership. Character and patriotism and be like the good shepherd who will do whatever necessary to protect their sheep. We ask you not to betray and abandon the parents who voted you into public office. Remember that is the Ugandan who elected you and not donors or foreign governments
iii. We ask you to look for friendship with nations that have similar values and aspirations. We ask the President to explore ways of forming a coalition among African nations who cherish our cultural norms and are opposed to being led on the path to “sexual colonization”

The Parliament

i. We ask the Parliament not to wait any longer, but to get busy with debating and passing a law that will protect our children from the vicious attack on them by homosexuals.
ii. As the people’s representatives, we demand that you present our views as the parents, voters and taxpayers of Uganda. Our stand and position has not and will not change. Homosexuality MUST remain illegal and a crime in Uganda. Any MP who has a contrary position on this matter is not fit to be a leader in this country and should hororably resign and leave the seat to Ugandans who can ably represent the wishes and aspirations of Ugandans.
iii. We sound a serious warning that we will recall any MP who betrays our children, our people and our nation.

The Police

i. We ask you to take steps to investigate and prosecute those who break the law by molesting and enticing our children into homosexuality. We ask you to enforce the law withour fiear or favor and you should conduct your affairs so that you don’t appear to shield and protect those who are destroying our children.
ii. When some of our children come out and accuse those who are molesting them, we ask you to provide protection for them instead of leaving them at the mercy of those who molest and abuse them.

Our Children

We promise to stand by you our children who we love and cherish. We will not leave any stone unturned in the battle for your lives, wellbeing and future. We urge you to resist the advances and enticements of homosexuals and lesbians. We want you to tell us whenever such a thing happens to you so that we can take the necessary steps to safeguard you. We are your allies and we have your best interest at heart.

Homosexuals

We love you and fellow Ugandans but we are opposed to you homosexual behavior. We have good nes that change is possible and you can be helped to leave that lifestyle as many have been helped and have abandoned that lifestyle. What you need is help, not rights.

Parents

Launching of the “Pass the Bill Now Campaign”

i. Call your MP and ask them to debate and pass the bill. Write to them and send them emails demanding that the anti-homosexuality bill must be passed.
ii. Send delegations from every district to come and make a petition to the Speaker of Parliament. We call upon parent countrywide to organize your selves in districts and down up to parish level. We will help with coordination and to arrange for visit to the Speaker
iii. Talk to your children and be close to them so that they can tell you what they are facing and who is trying to lure them into homosexuality

Rights not Help

I am honestly disturbed by the asks that these "parents" have especially in regard to doing anything whether politically correct or not. These comments and gatherings incite the citizens and government to deprive their gay citizens of their rights and encourage violence!

My child should have the right to live, socialize and love as long as they do not infringe on the rights of another human being!

Parents where are we to speak about discrimination in all its forms beginning in our homes!
