Its shining…make some hay!!
| by Nyakato | Wednesday, August 25th |
One of the residents of this home was a graceful neatly dressed old lady seating quietly by the corner, am told most days they seat quietly by themselves and since they are immobile, can only move when assisted onto their wheel chairs etc…I could not help thinking what this old mama was thinking about as she watched us pass near her to the back garden…was she lonely?? was she feeling abandoned??, was she having good thoughts of past events?, was she looking forward to see her kids and maybe her grandkids? – I didn’t know her story and didn’t want to ask either……all I could do was make a guess…... It’s easy to forget sometimes that seriously one really needs to live in the moment….. what with all the pressures of family, work, friends, enemies, elimu ya gumbaru …the list is endless……you find yourself overly concerned with things that you can do nothing about or worse still, that are none of your business
I made a resolution as I left the home that day - I need to be able to engage my mind waaaaaaay into old age should God grant me this grace…..; a good friend says her Mum used to say when they were annoying as kids that ‘….hamtanifanya nikuwe mwenda wazimu nikiona..’ J…yeah things around us can make one go crazy!
So relax, take a deep breath……..make some hay ladies, while the sun is still out!

True Hilda, this world wil
True Hilda, this world wil never stop for you so its upon me to make and create time for just me.
Living the moment
Good reminder of living the moment, living all the days of one's life and not just existing! Lets make hay..and make hay for the reborn Kenya!
