Since time immemorial we have heard and witnessed cases of women being bartered. We have heard stories even witnessed men who have killed their wives after a conflict but they never get punished. The resent case of NTV presenter Wambui is still fresh in our minds I still have not heard about that case, what happened to the husband. The last time I heard he was behind bars but not convicted yet. Many are times that we never get to hear the outcome of such cases and some men do not get convicted or jailed for the crime if found guilty. The public too rarely talk about these issue why?

So many young women are having unprotected consensual sex with PLWHA

Yesterday HIV and AIDS tribunal was sworn in after the appointments two years ago.The main work of the tribunal is to stamp out stigma by prosecuting those discriminating people living with HIV and minority groups be it in schools, hospitals embassies etc. I reached home a bit late i found the chairman of the tribunal saying they will be fighting for the rights of the minority group (sex workers, lesbians, gays, people with disabilities). The right to getting health care services in our hospital without being judged and being discriminated upon among other rights.

2011 May 16: Nqobile Khumalo (23), KwaMashu. Durban. Another 23 year old lesbian woman murdered in Kwa Mashu Durban. Until when will we be loosing our sisters to murderers who are homophophic? Until when will the LGBTI community live without fear of loosing their lives? Women have a right to love whoever they want either a woman/man.

Between March – May 2011 at least three (3) black lesbians were callously murdered in different South African townships.
Those who were killed are:
We have had 3 black lesbian murders in 3 months
2011 March: Nokuthula Radebe (21), Thokoza. Johannesburg

Today has been a very sad day for me as i paid my last respect to a friend, Colleague and a mother, so many things came into my mind. As i heard of the story of how she fought death and how the doctors couldn't find her vein because of her weight it made me think. Are we really healthy? Do we live and eat healthy? Are we concious about our weight? Yes we should appreciate ourselves the way we are, love ourselves, have a high self esteem irrespective of our weight, but also it is extremely important to eat healthy and live a healthy life.
