Double Standards.Double Standards.

I  strongly believe that we are living in a very competitive  world , us young women especially are often faced with a big challenge of getting to the top.

We are often sidelined  as being , hyper, unstable making us miss out on opportunites  as the men continue to get all the preferencial  treatment.

We have to pull together as young women and demand that which is rigtfully ours without  any fears or intimidation.

What double standards have you faced as a young women?

Re: superwoman/ supermom-syndrome

Society has not been open to women in leadership or at the top making mistakes. Everyone expects women in leaders to be superwomen or do we put those standards on ourselves? It is worse if that woman at the top happens to be a young woman. Comments like, " I told you so" or "I knew she was no different" or "young women are not serious" are likely to haunt her. For women who are mothers, nobody teaches them how to be mothers yet everyone expects women to be perfect mothers and not to make any mistakes. If a child performs badly in school or is involved in some actions considered "socially defective"- it is most likely that the woman and her mothering skills that will be blamed. Please...give us a break! We are human and yes, humans make mistakes.
