Women who love themselves - Are proud of their Processes!Women who love themselves - Are proud of their Processes!

Hey good ladies,

The other night I was watching Sunday Live - with Julie Gichuru of course.

The topic in line was not inspiring - Teen pregnancies. But I was not excited at the Comment a Dr. from a 'big' hospital in the country - young girls are getting pregnant because KPLC is rationing Power. What  about those girls in rural areas....without electricity. Anyway, I guess it was a misplaced comment.

But was meant me very excited was Julie On - TV Announcement that She was Very Pregnant. I felt that was very good.

We need to be very proud of ourselves and this i believe it goes a long way to make us feel good as well as healthy.

on the sunday nation of 6th september, there was an article done by arthur okwemba where a school in kericho our of 25 form one students, 24 got pregnant. for me its not just about the power rationing exercise that is going on, its deeper than that. i really wish we had statistics with regards to the people who are making the girls pregnant. is it the teachers, is it older men, who exactly is responsible.

and yes we have to talk to our daugthers, sister about reproductive healthy and sexuality so that they can make wise choices. girls, we need to reach to our sisters in secodary and primary schools. we can volunteer and give talks to them on saturday's? what do you people say? we have to save the girl child and ensure she gets a better education than we did. as sophie pointed out, once they fall pregnant, thats the end of their education!

let them become pregnant when they have established themselves then they will be proud to announce like Julie that they are pregnant.

thanks Annie for sharing that story, personally i did not get the chance to watch it.

This is soooo sad

Waoh, I cant believe someone can make such a myopic statement!!!  I read in today's EA Standard ( Thursday 10th September) that in R. Valley www.standardmedia.co.ke/InsidePage.php that in one school 55 girls dropped out of school due to pregnancy!!!! The reasons go deeper and sexual exploitation is one of them. The sad part is that for many of the girls that is the end of their education as they are now forced to stay home to fend for their kid(s) and in the long run a cycle of poverty starts. There is need of self empowerment and wareness creation among young girls and boys on sexuality as well as policies that will ensure that girls who get pregnant get a second chance.
