such innocencesuch innocence

As i was watching the news yesterday my heart broke when the story of the three four year old girls who were defiled by the father of one of them was aired. iam not a mother but i can relate with the innocence of the little girls. i have aniece who is one year older than the girls and last december i got to spend a week with her in my house, i was amazed at the innocence, the faith that this girl had on me, she hang on every word that i uttered , she trusted my every action and clung to me when scared. i vowed not to let anything hurt her, i made sure that nothing made her cry  during her stay with me.Such faith!! such love, such innocence, i was her pillar , her streangth and her shield nothing could go wrong when i was around, i sometimes laugh when i remember how she would come running to me when my friend (also a neighbour) made a face at her playfull ,she boldly said " auntie mchape, amenifanya hivi..) she believed no one could mess with her when i was there,it kinda made me feel so proud.

The little girl aired in yesterdays newsmust have trusted her father the same way ,he was her pillar but her let her down, he took the trust ,the faith and crashed it infront of her eyes, how sad for the little girl to realise that the person she trusted most was the same one who would end up wounding her. so many girls are facing the same in their homes ,in schools. The vey people they have put their trust in have decided to turn against them.who will fight for these girls? who will protect them?as i said it breaks my heart to read such stories of young girls lives being shattered and destroyed by the very people who are entrusted by God to protect and love them.
