The Bible in the book of 1 Kings 3: 16-28 gives an account of two women who are roommates contesting over a baby before King Solomon. They both claimed to be mothers to the son in dispute. Upon impasse King Solomon asked for a sword and suggested cutting up the baby into two so that each would have a piece. One of the women supported the suggestion while one offered that the baby be kept alive and given to the woman, who wanted him split. This account shows how competing interests can be problematic yet capable of being solved in a redemptive manner.

Today its about me, its about the school I choose to go to, about the fashion statment I hope to make, about the role I want to play in the society as a young woman, about who I want to date....wow I could go on and on but in the long run what matters most is me. I have witnessed many occassions when we sit in the back seat and tell the stories of our friends who have made "bad" decisions, who have been violated or who have chosen the wrong careers. It never affects me until it happens to me.

she sacrificed her time for me

she was always there when i got hurt and roughed up

she always comforted me

Good manners is the fabric that she gave to me

she instilled calmness in me

Her presence always left me energized

It all started as I was leaving the office rushing for a meeting in town....my sandal cut at the gate. I could have cried! I did not have another pair and I was already late for my meeting. I stood ther for 2 sec trying to put my thoughts together. My collegue Sophie came along any found me in my state. She syked me up to walk to the coblers down the road so I picked up my shoe and began to hop to the coblers!

I would have to say that this was the longest walk we had ever had!
