Saida is the Executive Director and a co-founder of the Young Women's Leadership Institute (YWLI).
Saida has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and English and a post graduate Honours Degree on Gender and Transformation from the African Gender Institute, University of Cape Town. She has done short courses on NGO management and consulting skills. She has previously been a Resource Person for the Ford Foundation and the Heinrich Boll Foundation. Saida is an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow (2007) at the African Leadership Institute. She is a member of the global Communication Task Force of the aids2031 Initiative, a project of UNAIDS and a board member of the Association of Women's Rights in Development (AWID). Saida has 9 years of experience in gender and human rights work and advocacy strategy development. As a frequent contributor to international conferences and dialogues on women's rights and development, Saida has developed a strong network of women and youth leaders in Kenya, East Africa, Africa and globally.
