Biography

EMMA NJOKI WAMAI is a Feminist and an Africanist who is currently a Peace and Security fellow at King’s College, London. She has experience in linking human rights, development and security at practice level having worked with the Kenya Human Rights Commission and the Ministry of Youth Affairs in Kenya. She is a passionate facilitator with demonstrated ability in research, writing, fundraising, community organizing, training, networking and gender mainstreaming. She has published various articles and reports on the State of Human Rights in Kenya, Women and Poverty in Africa and Youth Exclusion. Njoki graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Gender and Development from University of Nairobi. She has recently graduated from the 10th New Issues in Security Course (NISC) from the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP). Her research interests include Women, Peace & Security, Conflict Prevention through Governance and Food Security.
